A Short Story of Made By Request for Wiwiek Diana

Rain.
Rain.
Rain.
Sometime it put me in a dilemma.

Don't get me wrong, I love rain. The flood that got me confused when it comes to the highest rainy season in Jakarta. Why? If I go somewhere and then it flood, I worried of traffic and public transportation. Buy supplies online sounds right, but it also got stuck on delivery due to flood too.

Why don't you move somewhere else, they say.
Flood happen in almost Jakarta area. Even thought there are places that doesn't flood, it will get the impact of other area that flood.

Let just say, timing is important in this situation. And an understanding would be a delight that look small but has a big impact.

Let me introduce you to mba Wiwiek Diana (Mba Wiwiek).
We used to work in the same office once in the past. She has been one of my craft lovers since the beginning.

This time, she asked me to make her 2 necklace.
She love pearls.
However one of the design, need lots of pearls with different colors and sizes. In order to make it, we decide to use synthetic pearls. Because it will reduce the weight for lots of layers on one necklace.

Back to the beginning of the story, I had to postpone on buying the supplies, making the necklace and delivering it (until today Thursday February 12, 2015, i haven't been able to send it because of flood since Monday).

Well, this is the design, using 3 colors and mix pearl sizes.

For the other necklace, she told me in end of 2014 that she want a golden color beads for the simple necklace. I bought the beads when i went to Kuala Lumpur and i was going to launch it for 2015 new collection. "Bagai gayung bersambut" if we say in Indonesia (probably it means every question got its answer).
What a coincidence. I just happen to have the golden color beads, she just happen to ask me to make her necklace.

Hopefully I can send the necklaces to her soon.

A Short Story of Made By Request for Mba Lusiantari Ramadhani

It's been a while since my last blog. So, for several months since November 2014 until now, February 2015, I've got challenging made by request.

For this blog, I will tell you about mba Lusiantari Ramadhani (Mba Lusi).

On December, I was making new design that I was going to launch in 2015 collection. Mba Lusi saw my teaser of Tasbih 33 (Bracelet) on my Facebook. However, she had a little concern about the design. Some people have metal allergic and this was not the first time my craft lovers have this allergy. In another word, I need to figure out of design that are friendly to all kind of my jewelry users.

I am grateful that she told me that, and this is a boost to push myself on my design improvement.
And so this is my design for and inspired by her.

And on January, mba Lusi ordered a brooch, but using the same stone from the one she loved from Tasbih 99 that i made special for her. She used to order Tasbih 99 for many times. But since she gave the Tasbih as a present to her friend, she asked me to make a brooch.

The stone is Indian Agate. The colors are unique. Not just 1 color, but some solid color of green, some with grey or white shades, some with brown or cream color.
Her order was simple, just use the Indian Agate stone with dangle. Not too big, not too small.

Ppssttt... when someone asked you this simple, it might look "Oh OK I can do whatever". But for me, this is interesting.

Anyway, I made 2 design alternative as a beginning for her guide to choose. I combined it with crystals and metals. She choose Alternative 1.

Thank you for the lovely order mba Lusi. Happy to know you are happy with the handmade design.
Yeeeaaayyy... :) Alhamdulillah
